Everyday I like Sundae

Welcome to the weekend and the Quality Wines newsletter! With many of you looking forward to a luxuriant Sunday, we look ahead to a week full of delicious Sundaes.

Scoops & cones, lollies, Choc Ices, Twisters & Calippos. QW homemade ice creams & sorbets return for Summer Season 2, its all Feast no famine. Available from Tuesday will be a Madagascan vanilla & a chocolate sorbet or both as a Sundae with Jersey cream.

Our Bifana gets another week on the menu, 100 more papo secos filled with pork loin, our own Piri-Piri & Portuguese mustard, available on a first come first basis. Next week may be your last chance in ‘24. Keeping it Iberian, gambas are coming ‘a la Guilho’, one for the lovers.

In Italia, snazzy Barese cucumbers are washed, sliced & dressed-up in pokey red chilli & cooled with marscapone. Say yay, not neigh!

In memory of Lulu Peyraud, de Bandol, pot-roast lamb shoulder, olives, tomato, basil & a smashing courgette gratin. Evocative of salty air, hot soil, gnarled shrubbery, the French Mediterranean, Mourvedre. No need to be temperate, eat.

And, in my belly, Lobster tagliatelle. Natives are dispatched, steamed & picked. Bones & bits are cooked down into a liquor. Datterini toms & confit garlic added. Pasta carefully rolled & cut. It’s a labour of love & not one to be missed.

We look forward to seeing you all.

Nick, Marcos and the Team.
