How do you feel about Portuguese sangers? I'm a Bi(g)fana

Welcome to the weekend and the Quality Wines newsletter.

We are in full Bifana season on the Farringdon Road, there is chilled Super Bock, homemade Papo Seco rolls, Piri & Piri, Paladin Mostaza, pig fat, pork loin, Pepe, Paolo Bento, Portugeezers. 25 Bifana a day, available at lunch & dinner and when they are done they are done.

Coming to a QW near you next week: Barattiere cucumbers with mascarpone, chilli & mint. A salad proving not all Italian Melonis are poney. Hand-dived scallops come roasted in Cafe de Paris butter, a more is more compound butter featuring among other things espalette pepper, anchovies, garlic, Lea & Perrins & Dijon. Thierry, whats the French for Va Va Boom?

Asparagus gets assisted with a tonnato mayonnaise. Only a couple more weeks of the season. Get them while you can.

Tagliatelle with lobster will be a must have and Pyrenean pot roast lamb with olives, tomato, basil & a rather fab courgette gratin round out the mains. Wake up and smell the garrigue!

Lunch pasta will be a ragu of fennel sausage & chard. Still £15 with a wine, beer or Gina. At lunch, Tuesday to Saturday.

Wishing you all a great weekend.

Nick, Marcos & the Team!
