Oh Madone - Isla Bonito

My friends, it has been 12 nights since our last meeting. After a short hiatus we return. Welcome to the weekend at Quality Wines.

On this week and next a Portuguese dish of marinated chickpeas, bonito & boiled egg. Powered with parsley, coriander, red onion & lemon it’ll get you into the groove to book that holiday. Globe artichokes that get a steam & barigoule are served with the house vinaigrette, food in the round. If music be the food of love, play on.

Steamed hake will come with green asparagus & an Amalfi lemon mayonnaise, whilst short rib of beef is braised with plenty of black pepper and served with patate battute (hand mashed potato). What a wonderful phrase.

Our ‘Express Lunch’ will be hand-made cavatelli Ventricina del Vastese. Pasta shaped like little caves with Abruzzese pork sausage. £15 with a glass, beer or soft. Tuesday to Saturday at lunchtime. Deals.

And finally, without wanting to sound hyperbolic, QW’s best ever cake remains on for another week. A salty hazelnut & brown butter slice with a sexy chew and served with a Jersey cream.
