…And just like that we are back! With Christmas crackers cracked, family relations spatchcocked, turkey crowns basted but bastard dry, it’s time to get back on the QW wagon. Here’s to a fresh start, here’s to 2026 and here’s to the first newsletter of the New Year. Huzzah!

It’s £26 for 2026! For the month of January we are offering our 3 course set lunch, normally priced at £35 (back in February) at £26. Below is what’s available next week.

A deal designed to get you out of the jim-jams, into the shower and out for a good time. Next week features an avgolemono soup. Hearty, Hellenic & heaving with poached chicken & dill, bought together with the whisking of lemons & eggs for luxe & luster. Omek houria, a Tunisian chopped carrot salad, is imbued with Lamiri harissa, white wine vinegar, complemented with a boiled egg & finished with parsley. Leeks are cooked to soft, cooled and introduced to Quality vinaigrette for a least 24 hours before being plated with a crack of black pepper, a wink of approval, a nod of appreciation.

A choice of egg-yolk tagliatelle with duck ragu & Parmesan, a tart of pumpkin & feta, and a Tuscan bread stew with cannellini beans & cavolo nero completes the mains on offer. Wet food for a wet January.

Alongside some QW classics a New Year portent, portokalopita is a must for dessert. Baked and blitzed filo pastry is bound with yoghurt & egg, fresh orange juice & zest.

Also available at lunch & between 5-7pm daily we will be serving our mortadella & butter panino. Our most favouritist sandwich. This will be on offer for £15 with a glass of Lambrusco to incite joy, drinking, a mental escape to Bologna. (For those not wishing joy or escape there will be several non-alcoholic options available too!)

Finally at dinner only a bollito misto comprising of ox cheek, chicken leg, cotechino & carrots is all brought together with sauce Pearà, a Veronese bread sauce thickened with bone marrow. Well worth braving the outside, the bus & the blues.
