Primavera Lynn, We Meet Again

Merry Easter big weekender! On this weekend of rolling stones & bunny bones, QW is open as per, ie. Friday & Saturday, from midday.

Looking ahead to next week, the winds of change are ushering in exciting, verdant changes to the menu. Risotto Primavera, full of new season vigour, the puckered green snog of Demeter.

White asparagus vinaigrette takes one last bow whilst puntarelle is defiantly still done as the Romans do. Coombeshead Farm Bratwurst on the other hand is done as the Germans do (or should that be Visigoths). Coming with sauerkraut, potatoes & mustard (s). There was a mustard tasting. Fein wurzig, medium pikaut, extra or mitterlscharf. Picante for your pleasure.

Nick’s classic Comte & Roscoff onion tart tastes like wild weekend in Northern France and sounds like a new local detective agency and, Peposa Dell’Impruenta rounds out the larger dishes. A black peppered & braised short rib dish from the eponymous village of Impruenta, but inspired by the spice route, silk road & (maybe) last Sunday’s rather excellent staff luncheon at The Old Street Chinese, who is to say…

Talking of the which. A very rare opportunity has opened up. We are looking for a chef to join our growing kitchen team. Commis or junior CDP level but all applicants are welcome: as always, enthusiasm, a can do attitude and, a nerdy appreciation of traditional Mediterranean cuisine is perhaps more valuable than any hands-on experience. CV’s to [email protected].

Spaghetti & meatballs for our £15 lunch deal. Tuesday - Saturday next week. Safe to say I’m fairly excited for this one.

Hope to see you all over the weekend but if not have a fab long weekend.

Nick, Marcos & the Team.
