From Tuesday we will have a late Summer return of caponata. Like a player returning from a month long injury, it’ll feel like a new signing. Each separate vegetable fried to its best, both agro & dolce and, spiked with pine nuts & golden raisins.
Prime time bull’s heart tomatoes with flat bum peaches are adorned with stracciatella & pepper. All the ingredients at the top of their game so keep it simple stupid.
Tagliolini gets tossed with diced scallop, tomato, chilli & lemon for your pasta fix. Whilst roasted chunks of turbot come with coco beans, fennel & rouille.
The final main course is one that Nick has been talking about getting on for the best part of 4 years. He’s excited, so you should be too. The stars have aligned, the mountain has come to Mohammed, quail’s are being stuffed with rice, roasted and coming with a Zuni(esque) bread salad.
An ‘Express Lunch’ of rigatoni with ragu Genovese for £15 with a glass of wine, beer or soft drink is a reason to pop in. Whether a quick lunch break scran or the primi at the party. BTW, much like me the Genoese like it beefy & oniony.
And between 5 & 6pm a P.L.T gets you a free negroni to boot, for the rest of the month.
