Welcome to the Quality Wines newsletter. It’s the Bank Holiday long weekender. We are open as usual, have spots bookable and, are sorted for cheese & fizz.
Next week we will welcome the arrival of panzanella. A classic iteration. Just leftover focaccia rusks, The Last of the Summer Vine tomatoes, onions, basil, EVO & vinegar. Leaving you having left an important part of your brain somewhere, somewhere in a field in Umbria, all right.
Diced Scottish scallops, come with sliced garlic & chilli and, thrice (maybe) rolled tagliolini in a passata of pulped tomato with a squeeze of lemon.
QW classic caponata, continues a pace and will be here for fans of Carluccio, Contaldo & Common People.
Baked Cornish turbot come with creamed coco beans, fennel & saffron whilst quails will be plucked, roasted and stuffed with rice. Braised peas & pancetta will accompany the small birds. A petit pois al a Farringdonaise, if you will.
Yuliia has been busy on pastry. As well as bread and pasta duties we now boast a raspberry ripple ice cream, a bitter chocolate sorbet, a quiver of cannoli and, an Americanarama inducing peach pie with cream. Come and get y’alls.
Finally, a reminder that for the rest of August, between 5pm-6pm a P.L.T will come with a free negroni. Huzzah!
