Snog from a Salame, kiss from a Rosa
The new Friday newsletter has dropped, the keys are in the ignition, welcome to the weekend at Quality Wines.
An almost wholesale change to our menu across the next few days begins with a Bolgonaphile-bait panino. The homemade buns are toasted and filled with salame rosa (Mortadella’s fancy cousin/luncheon meat lookalike) & butter. There are a limited amount of these every day so get in early to avoid disappointment. Giouvarlakia come served in avgolemono, powered by dill & lemon. Meatballs in broth to the uninitiated. it’s all Greek to me.
Tagliolini with crab, fennel & Amalfi lemon, has us dreaming of Spring. Braised & rolled veal belly with pancetta, spinach, Marsala & sage has us dreaming of good Italian red wines, wood paneled rooms, saltimbocca & petricore. Which is handy having looked outside.
Next week’s ‘Express Lunch’ pasta is spaghetti Carbonara! £15 with a glass, beer or soft and available Tuesday to Friday. Kitsch as Christmas.
Looking forward to seeing to all soon.
