The Chronicles of Radicch

Gobble gobble and good afternoon galliformes, welcome to the weekend and welcome to the Quality Wines newsletter. Some sore heads & some existential dreads today at the desks. The first Thursday of the December shenanigans is under your belt, well done, you made it. Raise your glasses, raise your spirits, raise the temperature. Let’s throw some further Vin Diesel on those festive fires.
At lunch a new sandwich is available for £12, from Tuesday to Saturday, from here until 2026 (the 20th of December). Introducing the tacchino panino. Layers of thinly sliced butter-roast turkey crown is heaped atop: Alistair Little’s ‘Orvietano’ stuffing, radicchio agrodolce, sugo d’arrosto, rocket & mayonnaise, all inside a classic QW milk bun embellished with sesame seeds. Just don’t call it a C****tmas S****ich!
As ever we are running our set menu at lunch and will be doing so throughout December. £29 for 2 courses or £35 for 3. This week: a Greek, slow cooked rice and spinach dish, ‘spanakorizo’ comes finished with barrel-aged feta and black pepper, a vitello tonnato & a luxurious butter-heavy tagliolini dish with black trompettes, amongst other things are available. For those wishing to go big, no need to feel restrained, baked wheels of cheese, Champagne, truffles, scallops & decadence will be on offer too.
Throughout the afternoon heady wafts of pastry & cheese herald the baking of 3 manchego & white onion tarts. Ready for 5pm, 24 slices are to be had daily. Be it a savoury to make steadfast after the 3rd bottle at lunch or the first bite of a fledgling dinner, don’t miss out.
Rolled shoulder of pork is braised in milk, lifted by the inclusion of lots of lemon peel and served with mashed potatoes & rocket. A hearty northern Italian staple born of sty & stable. A risotto of fennel & clams and fillets of hake served with white beans and a fervent salsa verde complete seconds.
A big boozy baba is billed to be shared with a bosom buddy, soaked in syrup & rum, it gets smothered & silly with Chantilly. Our arsenal of cannoli, ice creams & sorbets abound as ever to salve to soul.
A reminder that we still have a few dates available to book your Christmas party with us. Up to 12 people can be sat on our farmhouse table to enjoy a feasting menu of QW Christmas classics, along with magnums of wine, snowballs & ill-considered snogging.

On Sunday we have the immense pleasure of welcoming dear friend Marcelo Rodrigues to cook with us. Otherwise over subscribed we have had a cancellation of 4 people at midday, meaning we have availability for a table of 2/3/4. Get in touch!
Much love bambinos.
Marcos, Nick & the Team.
